Daughter’s Homecoming Date

Well, it’s official, my teenage daughter is dating. Bittersweet is the only word that can accurately describe my feelings right now. I’m not gonna lie; it’s hard to watch my only daughter jet off with a teenage boy who probably possesses the linguistically talented charms of Mr. Tony Robbins. However, even if I’m wrong and the kid isn’t the worlds best smooth talker, does it really matter? I just handed my daughter off to a teenage boy…with hormones. The world needs to bow their heads in a moment of silence, because my heart just broke into a thousand small pieces.
On the other hand, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride and admiration, too. My precious baby girl has reached another step in her journey to womanhood. Even though it’s been a long and sometimes tearful struggle to get her here, she’s ready.
