Clipix: Organize Your Life 02/09/12

I’m so excited to share with you guys a new online tool I’ve found called Clipix.  It allows you to organize your online life, making it easier for you to save and categorize things you find interesting as you browse.  It’s much better than just bookmarking a page, because Clipix allows you to save a picture and even share with people you want to grant access to your clipboards.  Best of all, it’s free!

It’s very easy to do, too.  You simply drag a bookmark called a “Clip” into your bookmarks bar.  Whenever you find something online that you’d like to come back to later just click the “Clip” button.  Everything that you clip is stored in customized clipboards on clipix.  You can share, edit, delete or change the security settings on each individual clipboards as much as you like. 

There are also Syncboards, which allow you to clip collaboratively with your friends or family.  I haven’t tried out this feature just yet, but I bet it could be a lot of fun.  It could also save a lot of time if you were working on a project with someone.  There is also an iPhone App which allows you to take all your clipboards with you on the go. 

I’ve found a really good use for Clipix already and that is organizing recipes for my webpage.  Sometimes I share recipes I find from other websites and it’s nice to be able to have a source ready at the tip of my fingers.  I’m also able to share each saved clip with my fans on Facebook and Twitter with one click! 

As you can see, I have one clipboard filled with wallpaper samples.  The other clipboard is recipes I’ve collected from various websites. 

If I click on one of my clips, I’ll be shown a larger version.  It will allow me to share the page with anyone using various social media outlets and email.  Everything is so uncluttered and in it’s place.  I love it!
